New Adoptee (Other aliases: Scooter, n00b, Dog Beta Version) is a five year old lasa ahpsa mix, an early christmas present for my mom. Parents got him at a shelter. He's a very bouncy little dog (about 30#). Parents got him about a week ago.
Rocky is of course still here and always will be. Forever. And ever.
But, you know rocky is a polite and rather passive dog and I think he's being too polite to the little upstart. They don't fight but it's pretty obvious that Rocky isn't comfortable around him yet.
He bit dad when dad tried to take his bone away. Dad got pissed and I think scared the hell out of the little dog. For the rest of the night, little dog was glued to his heels. Dad is good at puting the fear of god into dogs.
I'm not sure a full board and train program is the right thing, but parental units might be willing to pay you something if there's a way Rocky could gain more confidence around the little one. Do you know if that's something that he might do in time or should we encourage Rock to, like, snap at him if the little one tries to take his toy or something?
Truely the best thing to do, is let Rocky get annoyed on his own. If you want you can put little one and Rocky in a room together and let them "work it out". Is the little dog bullying him?

Devious Comments
I find an irony in me sitting here watching this as I can hear my dad upstairs teaching our new adoptee Sit and Stay in his mean voice.
New adoptee bit him earlier. New adoptee is cute but new adoptee needs some attitude adjustment. =/
